Trouble x 2
(Stuck?! Sketches August 15th Challenge)

I took this picture last Winter while hanging out with my nieces.  It cracks me up as it shows exactly how silly they can be together... not withstanding the occasional (ok ok frequent!) sisterly bickering. I finally got around to scrapbooking it, while inspired by the latest Stuck?! Sketches challenge that follows.

This is the August 15th sketch!  Check out Stuck?! Sketches right HERE for all the details on this challenge and to see lots more DT inspiration!

Laura's sketches always look so fabulous.  I flipped this one vertically so my title cluster is in the bottom left corner.

I love the grid design on the sketch background so I wanted to use a grid pattern on my background too.  I contrasted the kraft base with busy flowers designers and a variety of bright colours.

They sure can be a load of double trouble, but they're also as lovable as can be!

Thank you for visiting today!

Leave me a comment - I always love to read your feedback!

The End of a Perfect Day
(Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 3)

Are you loving the new Seaside Cottage collection from Blue Fern Studios yet?
If not, then you are missing something and should really check it out HERE!

This is yet another layout created with this gorgeous collection!

This page features a super sweet photo of my niece Ella standing ashore, at the end of a perfect day, just before sunset. I used the Icicle embossing powder on the title with a bottom layer of Chili Powder which I found was perfect to go along with the color of the sand on the picture.

Wanting to showcase as much different patterned papers on my layout as possible, I created several tags and slipped them along the ripped and distressed diagonal edge of my page.

Below, you see a piece of the Frolic Mesh covered in Seamist embossing powder to adorn the Blue Fern Studios blooms.

This gorgeous image from the Calling Cards paper went beautifully with my photo and page.
I lined it up with some fussy cut shells and the dolphin from the Ocean Mermaid set.

Also from the Ocean Mermaid set is this fabulous piece on which I used, from the tail tip to the bust, Clover, Peacock, Seamist and Icicle embossing powders.

Oh, how I love this picture!  It seems like the perfect end to my BFS DT Reveal, showcasing the gorgeous Seaside Cottage line!

I hope you have enjoyed my 3 sea-themed projects over the last 3 days, just as much as I've enjoyed creating them!

Summer Vacation
(Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 2)

I am so blessed to live near the Atlantic ocean so I get to see beautiful seascapes all the time.  I therefore have lots of beach pictures to scrapbook and the new Seaside Cottage collection from Blue Fern Studios is just perfect for all those!

Today, I am sharing with you this double-page layout created with this exquisite line!

I love creating double-page layouts and I had just the right pictures for this one, to go along with these beautiful papers.  I took these shots during our family Summer vacation in Percé, Quebec two years ago.  Yves was walking on the seashore admiring from afar the famous Rocher Percé.

I choose to use the Summer Vacation chipboard piece as my title and covered it in layers of Stellar Night, Blue Sky, Breeze and Snow embossing powders.

I decorated my page with beautiful blue Seaside Lilies and ivory Seaside Roses along with other flowers from my own stash.  I added pieces of Crackle Bits, covered in Auburn embossing powder, behind my flower clusters to give the illusion of fishing nets.

This is a fabulous new piece called Seashell Frame which I decide to cut in half... using the top half on top of my photo strip and the bottom half peaking out from below.

I sprinkled a little Autumn glitter around my flower clusters and I added some white and blue shimmery paints on my background and embellishments as well as turquoise mist.

I absolutely love this quote to go along with the photos of Yves...
a boy playing on the sea-shore... :)

Thank you for visiting today!
I have some more Blue Fern Studios inspiration to share with you tomorrow!

Island Time
(Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 1)

Hello!  Today starts off 3 days of Blue Fern Studios shares!

My DT Reveal has gone live on the BFS blog right HERE, and this month, I am showcasing the newest Blue Fern Studios collection called Seaside Cottage!  This has turned out to be by far my favorite all-time beach-themed collection, evoking such a calm, soothing Summer feel, with its beautiful sea-inspired papers and lovely coordinating marine chipboard pieces.  Seaside Cottage is definitely a MUST-HAVE paper line to document all your Summer holiday memories which I have done this month, starting off with this single page layout.

My very favorite paper from this collection is this one called Mermaid.  I have decided to use it as background for my featuring a splendid shot of the sailing ship L'Esperance as it was in passage in our area a few years past.  The Island Time title was perfect to go along with the photo.  I created an ombre effect on the chipboard by using 3 shades of embossing powder: In the Navy, Nutmeg and Oatmeal.

I made use of many Blue Fern Studios flowers, some of which from the latest sets designed to go along with this paper line and a few from the Tranquil set.  I added a combination of blue and copper microbeads as well as splatters of different paints to give my page a mixed media touch.

Below, you can see the gorgeous Seaside Flourish and the larger lantern from the Seaside Lanterns set.

I removed the center from the navy blue Seaside Roses to replace it with a brad and decorated my flower cluster with a Whimsy Flourish covered in Oatmeal embossing powder.

Some magnificent papers and chipboard for a magnificent photo!

Come back tomorrow for some more Seaside Cottage inspiration!

Inspiration
(from challenges at 7 Dots Studio, Berry71bleu
& Scrapki-wyzwaniowo)

I am so happy to be off work for another week (YAY to Summer holidays!) and since I did not make any plans other than just staying home and taking it easy, I am spending most of my days in my scraproom doing what I love best!

Today I was able to create this layout inspired by 3 different challenges:

The first challenge that inspired me is the July-August challenge from 7 Dots Studio which is to share a favorite quote which is what I did.  The quote is from the famous Helen Keller.  What true words of wisdom from such a special lady!  She wasn't able to see nature with her eyes, but she no doubt felt the beauty and wonder of it with her heart!

The next challenge that I incorporated into my creation is the August "Summer Hideaway" challenge at Berry71bleu.  As you can see, I loved the mood board and used the colour palette on my page.  My "Summer Hideaway" is exploring and walking among nature... totally awe-inspiring every time!

The final challenge with which I am playing along today is the Scrapki-wyzwaniowo August challenge, all about meadow flowers.  I added a piece of the Tranquility Foliage chipboard from Blue Fern Studios and used a stunning wallpaper image with a wild flower on it (borrowed from here).

I absolutely adore these papers from 7 Dots Studio, from the Nature Walk and Cold Country collections, which were totally perfect for the whole theme of this page.  I was able to coordinate with several tags and die-cut shapes also from 7 Dots Studio in order to create my homage to nature on paper!  The chipboard word 'Inspiration' is from Blue Fern Studios.

I created many layers with tags, stickers, die-cuts, chipboard and flowers.

I added some dot and leafy flourish stamped designs using a 7 Dots Studio stamp set and sprinkled in some green microbeads.

Below, you can read the quote that I chose.  Beautiful words to never forget, aren't they?

Thank you so much to 7 Dots Studio, Berry71bleu and Scrapki-wyzwaniowo for inspiring me to create today!  I hope you enjoy my layout and that it inspires you to create too!

Now I'm off, dreaming up my next project!

Fabulous Florals Card
(Simon Says Wednesday Challenge)

I haven't had the chance to participate in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge in a while so I am happy this week to be on vacation and have a bit more time to scrap.

I created this very flowery card especially for this week's Fabulous Florals challenge.  I am always grateful for awesome inspiration and this challenge was the perfect starting point for my card.

I cut these fine blooms with my Silhouette and added some coordinating flowers from my stash.

Right Here Right Now
(Stuck?! Sketches August 1st Sketch)

It's time for another DT reveal for the fabulous Stuck?! Sketches!

My page this month is a bit more on the masculine side with lots of kraft accents and a few mixed media touches.

This is the sketch used as inspiration as part of the August 1st Stuck?! challenge for which you can find the details HERE as well as more DT creations.

Let's take a closer look at my page:

The pictures were taken along the river shore during a family outing a few Summers' back. Yves seems to be enjoying the moment... right here right now!

 Thank you for dropping by!

Friends Treasured
(More Than Words August DT Reveal)

August is here (and for me long with Summer holidays!!) and it's time once again for a More Than Words MAIN challenge DT reveal!

My layout this month is very vivid in color, using some gorgeous Blue Fern Studios papers and chipboard.

Here is the MAIN challenge offered to you in August from More Than Words!
word inspiration - FRIENDS
creative challenge - CIRCLES

As you know, the concept of the challenge is to both be inspired by the word and to incorporate the creative challenge on your project.  Click HERE for all the details of the August challenge along with lots of fabulous DT inspirations and info on our generous sponsors!!

The word FRIENDS brought a lot of special people to mind, but first and foremost is Christine. We have met each other online more than 15 years ago through a mutual love for the singer Tori Amos, and we have the best of real life friends ever since.

I wanted to invoke the the 'circle of friends' theme in my design by adding lots of CIRCLES cut out of the patterned paper.

I also added round brads, jewels as well as microbeads... circles of all sizes!

What a pretty picture showcasing the true bond of everlasting authentic friendship!

Hope you've enjoyed and that you will play along!
