Camping Birthday Party
(with BoBunny "Take a Hike" collection)

As you many already know, I recently applied to the latest BoBunny DT call, but wasn't fortunate enough to make the final cut.

So today, I am sharing with you a blog post about my 2nd project created as part of my Round 2 submissions... a fun party decor setup featuring the "Take a Hike" collection.

Since Summer has just begun and every kid dreams of camping, I thought it would be awesome to plan a camping theme birthday party!  As you can see, there is a table full of fun elements, but let's start by taking a closer look at the invitation and the banner!

Each flag in the banner features many of the "Take a Hike" pattered papers and embellishments.  I even added some Copper Foil Transfers and some handmade stitching on each.

I used the Nested Terrific Tag Dies set to create the tag below which I covered with Crackle Paste Primer and Black Crackle Paste.  My big chipboard letters were covered with copper paint mixed in with some Chocolate Pearlescents.

I decorated a little blackboard easel as a welcoming sign for guests.

A birthday party just wouldn't be a party without cupcakes... well, in this case... campcakes!

I topped each delicious chocolate campcake with a little flag created out of paper and some Noteworthy shapes which I adhered to little plastic cocktail picks.

Probably my favorite part of this decor is my "bear poop" corner.  Any kid would certainly love this!!

Of course, the bear poop is really chocolate covered almonds.  I decorated the dish with this fun bear chipboard piece along with paw prints from the Take a hike chipboard set.

Of course, any camping themed party has to involve cooking S'Mores over a fire so I made these S'Mores kits including all the fixings needed to make this delicious camping favorite.

And to go along with S'Mores are water bottles each wrapped with some pattern paper.

And finally, here are some decorated mason jars holding drink sticks (aka straws!) and glow sticks, for extra added fun around the campfire!

This whole camp birthday party is sure to make any kid happy this Summer, thanks to BoBunny and the "Take a Hike" collection!

Hope you enjoyed!

Sweet Fun Card
(More Than Words Mini Challenge)

It's time for another fun MINI Challenge at More Than Words!!

And this month I've created this card.

Have you guessed yet what is the MINI word for July?!

Yes, the mini word is FUN!  I had given you a hint in the very first sentence of this blog post.

Check out more DT inspiration and all the challenge rules right HERE.
You probably know how it goes by now.  You have to include the word FUN on a card, tag or ATC and share it on the More Than Words Facebook page by the end of the month to be eligible to win!

I found the word FUN on a simple tag I had in my stash and then worked with it to create this whimsical soft yet colourful card.

Of course since I didn't create a tag, it didn't mean I couldn't still include one in my project.

I just love white corrugated paper!!!  And in case you're wondering, those cute little feathers were found at my local Dollarstore!  My only regret is not buying more than one pack of them!!

Now let's see what FUN mini project you create to play along!

Jar of Flowers Canvas
(Scraps of Elegance "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" Kit)

Well, I promised you a MIXED MEDIA with the Scraps of Elegance July kit so here goes!

I decided to do a jar of flowers using the gorgeous jar chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios and many of the flowers from the Floral add-on.

My base was covered with so many layers of different paints and pastes and inks that I can't even begin to list them all.  I did sprinkle some of the BFS Imagine Ink Watermelon glitter and added different microbeads and art stones from my own stash.

As you can see, I took several pieces of the Prima twine and made a crisscross pattern on my base.

And, as a final touch, some of the sweet little bees from the BoBunny Butterfly Kisses chipboard set!

Well, this is it for me this month using this wonderful kit.  After 3 layouts, 3 cards and a canvas, I have a bit of product left over which I will be happy to use on future projects.

Take another look at the kit and all the add-ons I had the pleasure of using.

Unique Beauty
(Scraps of Elegance "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" kit)

As you know, I've been very busy with the Scraps of Elegance July kit these past few days and this is my 3rd layout featuring the "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" main kit as well as the elements and floral add-ons.  I think this is my favorite layout of the 3 I've done and shared!

For this layout I used a Blue Fern Studios paper from the romantic Courtship Lane collection as my background and then accented with some BoBunny Butterfly Kisses papers, chipboard and buttons.  I used the Prima stamp to form part of my title and even stamped some pretty butterflies that I cut out and popped up against my background.

One of my favorite part of this kit are the gorgeous Attic Charm Daisies from Blue Fern Studios.  I have been lucky enough to have used these on other projects in my DT work for BFS, but I have to say that they couldn't be more perfect for this kit.  They go so well against those flowery chipboard pieces from BoBunny.

This is another favorite photo of mine... my niece Ella is just so precious, pondering over a butterfly just as pretty as herself!

And there you go... another day of Scraps of Elegance goodness!

Tomorrow will be my final SOE share this month and I think I may just go MIXED MEDIA crazy for my last day.  Come see how I got my hands dirty with this kit!

A Trio of SOE Cards
(Scraps of Elegance "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" Kit)

This is day 3 of my Scraps of Elegance DT reveal!  There's still 2 more to go, but today, let's take a look at a set of 3 cards that I created with the July "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" collection.

All 3 cards are different from one another, each in a different colour palette, but still from the same gorgeous papers from the BoBunny Butterfly Kisses collection included in the July kit.

First there's this soft pink card using the cute chipboard hummingbird and a lovely stamp from Prima.

With my 2nd card, I decided to go with teal blue.  These jars were fussy cut out of the papers and I think they are most adorable!

And lastly, here is a peach card also adorned with a jar and some butterflies.

Dream Big
(Scraps of Elegance "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" kit)

I am back today with some more DT inspiration with the Scraps of Elegance July kit "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" that features the Butterfly Kisses collection from BoBunny.

This time, I am sharing with you a layout of my youngest niece Daphne during a visit at Butterfly World a couple years ago.  How fitting for this kit!

I did a lot of layering on this page, wanting to showcase as much of the pretty kit papers as I could. I used the little butterfly punch included in the kit and popped up the negative to give some sort of shadow effect.

I loved the Prima stamp included in the kit... so unique.  I dabbed some Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint in turquoise on the flowers and leaves and tied a blow on my tag with the gorgeous Prima twine.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Daphne - the concentrated intense look on her face is priceless. It's like she's thinking: "I must not move to scare the pretty butterfly away!"  hehe

Here is once again the beautiful July Scraps of Elegance kit:

Over the next few days, I will be sharing with you my DT projects created with the Scraps of Elegance kit called "Sunshine & Sweet Tea", the perfect kit name for July!

As you can see, this kit features the beautiful Butterfly Kisses collection from BoBunny combined with some Blue Fern Studios papers, chipboard and flowers.  Along with the different add-on kits are also included flowers, wood icons, twine and stamps from Prima, more flowers from Petaloo and even more pretty embellishment pieces and mixed media products!

Element Add-On

Floral Add-On

When I saw this challenge at Words & Paintery, I found that the colour palette matched this kit to a T so I decided to play along.  Click HERE for details on this challenge.

And now let's take a look at some close-ups of my layout which is all about my niece Ella who is truly wonderful.  She is growing up so fast... the picture was taken at her 5th grade graduation.  Her story is just beginning!

I added some stenciling with modeling paste on the right side of my page and lined up the 2 different paper patterns with fussy cut butterflies from the BoBunny papers.  I sprinkled a bit of Imagine Ink glitter on the wings and added a Prima wooden heart into the center of each.

Ella looks so sweet in her coral Summer dress with which some of the kit papers and flowers match perfectly.

I hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into the SOE "Sunshine & Sweet Tea" kit.

Come back in a couple days for more!
