Shabby Card
(Cardabilities #127)

It's time for CARD-SHARING today.

And this one is as shabby chic as it can get!

This one was inspired by Sketch #127 from Cardabilities.

I used a die-cut doily from Martha Stewart and then added flowers, a fancy metal butterfly
and some pearl flourish to create the focal point of my card.
Instead of the banner included on the sketch, I decided to rip my paper,
distress it and lace both pieces together with eyelets and twine.

The papers and brads are from Bo Bunny
the 'Sweet Life' and 'Garden Journal' collections to be more precise.

Thank you for visiting!

Hello Dear Little Friend
(7Dots Studio & Sketchabilities Challenges)

I'm back today with a very earthy and nature-inspired layout based on
2 awesome challenges to which I absolutely wanted to participate this month!

Do you recognize the beautiful paper?
It's from the 'Nature Walk' collection from 7 Dots Studio,
and this page was inspired by the July Challenge that's all about 'Animals'.

I also played along with Sketch #143 from Sketchabilities.
Like all Karan Gerber sketches, it is beautiful and bound to peak your creativity!

Now let's take a closer look at my layout...

Seen here some of the many tags and stickers included in the 'Nature Walk' line.
It is my favorite collection of 7 Dots Studio - you can see it all HERE.

Below, you can catch a glimpse of the mixed media touches that I added to my background,
using stenciled molding paste, mist, paint, embossing dust and micro-beads.

Also from 7 Dots are the chipboard leafy swirls that I decided to keep bare
because I simply love the natural colour that they come in.
The stamping designs you see on the background also come from 7 Dots Studio stamps.

When I first saw the 'Animal' theme of the 7 Dots Studio challenge,
it was a no brainer... I was going to scrapbooking pictures of my kitty Sugar.
But then I started looking through my photos wanting to match the collection,
and I decided that this picture would be perfect for 'Nature Walk'.
A chipmunk, one of the sweetest looking animals that are quite common in Canada.
This one was found lounging on some wilting sunflowers during an early Fall stroll!

Such a cute little ball of fur!  Adorable and tiny, yet wild and free!

Hope you enjoyed!

Fancy Gift Bag & Card Set
(Lemoncraft DT Reveal part 2)

As promised, I'm back today with another share
with more LEMONCRAFT products.

You can see my blogpost on the Lemoncraft blog right HERE!

For my 2nd project, I decided to make a fancy gift bag and card set:

As you can see, I used products from the 'House of Roses' collection and did a lot
of fussing cutting in the papers to add lots of pretty flowers to the bag and card.

As you can see, the card is basically a mini version of the bag.
They will both serve as a great gift set for a special friend!

Love This Moment
(Lemoncraft DT Reveal part 1)

I am so happy to be share with you today
my very first post as a designer for LEMONCRAFT.

I have been a fan of Lemoncraft products ever since its debut,
and creating with such beautiful elegant papers and embellishments
makes me a very happy scrapbooker!

Let's take a look at this very shabby chic layout created with
the new 'Neverending Summer' collection:

I am absolutely in love with this beautiful collection starting with this woodgrain paper
called 'Lazy Evening' that I used as my background.

These delicate leafy dies I bought off the Lemoncraft store right HERE.

  I mix-matched many Lemoncraft flowers

as well as badges, and added the lovely birdcage chipboard.

Come back tomorrow to see more!

Supplies used from the Lemoncraft store:

Amazing Sunset
(Scrap Around the World Mid Month Reveal)

YAY!  It's my turn to share my take on the SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD
July mood board challenge that went live on July 1st!

Take a look again at the gloriously optimistic and brilliant mood board
designed by fellow Canadian ambassador, Pam Ellis!

Click HERE to see the project reveal of the first part of the SATW DT
and HERE to see the mid-month reveal that premiered today, including yours truly!

I was immediately drawn to this vibrant and happy mood board!
I tend to veer away from the bright colours when doing mixed media work on my layouts
as I'm never really sure I will like the finished result as they can be so unpredictable,
but I have to say that I'm very happy with how this page turned out.

Because of the nature theme of all the images in Pam's mood board,
I wanted to pay tribute to nature as well by using pictures of 3 exquisite sunsets
and then letting the colours seep through my embossed background.

This layout enabled me to also use up some of my HUGE stash of single paper flowers
that I have in a big basket which I tend to forget about sometimes
because I opt for the brand names. :)

Nature is just amazing, isn't it?
A constant source of inspiration!!

Hope you like my take on the SATW July mood board!

Music Happy
(Bo Bunny July Sketch Challenge)

I haven't been able to scrap much the past few weeks, apart from regular DT projects,
because I was in the middle of reorganizing my scraproom!
It's still not 100% done and ready to be revealed to you all, but
be patient though as it won't be too long!!

I was very happy to take a break from the reorganizing last weekend
to have a day and a half scrapbooking session with my friend Josee
during which I created this music-themed layout!

BO BUNNY is my dream team
(I dream of the day when I will be on their DT as I know it will happen someday!!!)
and I have followed them ever since my debut as a scrapbooker!
I have loved every single one of their collections from the very first lines right
down to the newer  ones like Juliet which is probably my new
ALL-TIME FAVOURITE and just happens to be the prize for this challenge!
I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this one!!!

On this layout, I used another newer collection and a favourite also,
Heritage which is so beautiful with its earthy and vintage feel.
I used the "Register" paper as a background as well as "Belong" for layering.

Other Bo Bunny products include Brads and Layered Chipboard also from the Heritage Collection,
as well as flowers, doilies and pearls.

I absolutely adore this piano layered chipboard sticker!!!
Although I love the complete Heritage collection, this sticker was the #1 reason
why I knew I just had to add this collection to my already HUGE Bo Bunny stash! ;)

The picture is of my niece Ella's hands a few years back,
while she was playing on a keyboard that Yves and I had given her for Christmas.
Ella loves music and has even learned to play the violin this past year!

Thank you Bo Bunny for the sketch inspiration
and for constantly keeping our creativity alive with your outstanding products!

Destiny
(White with 1 DT Reveal - Marsala)

This month's color challenge at White with 1 has just been revealed today!

Marsala... is a deep burgundy wine, beautifully warm and seductively sweet.

I found it challenging and I thought I had it down to par when I was working on my layout,
but then seeing it on here, I think I didn't quite get it right.
But I do say that it's close enough.  The picture turned out a little dark.

You probably recognized me from my younger days...

Yes! I was 21 years old then, back in 1996,
an English major, graduating from University.

After dabbing some white paint on my flower cluster and chipboard,
it actually came closer to this month's colour than the paper.

If you want to see lots more 'Marsala' inspiration,
click HERE to visit the WW1 blog to see the full DT reveal.

By playing along this month, you could win prizes sponsored by:

or become an International Guest Designer (if you live outside Australia).

Hope you will play along!
