Dear Santa (December SOS Sketch DT Reveal)

Christmas is exactly 3 days away!!!

To celebrate its impending arrival...
how about another Christmas layout?!

Along with the sketch, this is a 'Anything Goes' challenge,
but you have to use as much stuff from your older stash as possible.

This original and trendy sketch was very challenging for me,
but I had a lot of fun playing around with the design to make it my own.

I decided to use up some older Christmas stash to make room for the new.
I had won the complete City Sidewalks collection from Pink Paislee about 2 years ago
and never got around to using it yet, can you believe it?!
I think I found the papers so beautiful that I just couldn't bear to cut into them.
Well, I decided that it was now or never!

The picture is quite the oldie in itself... me, when I was 4 years old, back in 1977!
I think I was a tad bit scared of Santa.  ha!

Can't wait to see your take on this challenge!

French Garden Canvas & Tag Set (Meg's Garden DT Reveal)

Hello everyone!

It's my turn again to share on the Meg's Garden blog
some new projects created with their fabulous products.

I'm also sad to say that this will be my last post as Meg's Garden Designer.
I have enjoyed my stay with this amazing DT and am grateful to Meg for the opportunity.
Looking forward to come back and visit often! :)

This month, the Meg's Garden DT is featuring once again the elegant and beautiful
The French Garden collection designed by  Denise Boddey.

The first thing I did was fussy cut that beautiful bird cage off the "Caged Damask" paper.
I wanted it to be the focal point of my canvas.
I adorned it with a gold butterfly trinket that I dabbed with white paint.

Obviously I had to add lots of paper flowers to my canvas.
These large paper roses are my favorite.

I added texture to my canvas background by doing some fancy stenciling with molding paste.
I then used different shades of pink mists to add colour.

These pretty butterflies were fussy cut from a Transparencies Art Collage page.

Check out the end of my post for a complete list of products used

Aside from this canvas, I created a set of mini tags, also using The French Garden.

Let's take a closer look at each tag.

All these lovely vintage images are from the "Cut & Create" paper.

I was provided with many metal charms along with my DT pack,
including this adorable little air balloon.

And the last tag, possibly my favorite of the 3...

Thank you once again for joining me
and I hope that you were inspired by my creations.

Products used from Meg's Garden Store:
Paper Lilies
Green Leaves
Puffy Paper Flowers

My Creative Sketches December Reveal

The new December sketch from My Creative Sketches went live on the 16th
so if you haven't had the chance to check it out yet, here it is!

It has so much creative potential so here's to hoping that you will play along
for a chance to win this gorgeous prize:

Here is my take on the sketch, one of My Creative Scrapbook DT projects
shared with you earlier this month, using the December Main kit.

This sketch also inspired me to create these 3 cards, also made with the MCS Main kit.
I'll be showing you more details on the MCS blog later on this month.

Make a Wish (2Crafty DT Reveal & SATW December)

I am back again with another 2Crafty Chipboard creation,
this time a very frosty and sparkly layout celebrating Winter and Christmas.

This layout was inspired by the gorgeous December mood board
over at Scrap Around the World, designed by Anna Komenda.
Obviously, I recreated the beautiful colour palette as well as many elements
from the images as snowflakes, flowers and the sparkling magic of Winter.

This month Scrap Around the World is collaborating with Stuck?!Sketches.
This is their December sketch challenge,
gone live HERE on December 15th and designed by Laura Whitaker.
I thought it went perfectly with the SATW mood board.

Now let's take a closer look at my layout
and all the 2Crafty chipboard used,
starting with the "Make a Wish" title.

Below you can see the beautiful and elegant "Festive Branch",
a piece of which I cut to use on another part of my layout,
and one of the many pieces from the "Handdrawn Stars" set.
I covered the chipboard with white paint, then added a little blue paint and blue
distress stain followed by more white and shimmer champagne paint.
I finished off with a red shiny sequin in the center of each snowflake.

I added a subtitle by using the words 'magic' and 'believe'
from the "Christmas Mini Word Set 2".
I decorated with more "Handdrawn Stars".

I cut up one of the dangling snowflakes from the "Festive Branch"
to add it to the flower cluster and did the same to the snowflakes
from both the "Christmas Decorative Ornate Borders".

Aside from chipboard, I used many flowers from Petaloo
which I dabbed with different shimmery paints...

and a lovely Zva Creative red crystal flourish.

The picture is of a coworker's adorable daughter named Audrée.
This layout just wouldn't be the same without this fabulous photo!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed these past 2 days of 2Crafty inspiration!

You can look up all the chipboard pieces I used, and many more,
right HERE on the 2Crafty website
to find a stockist nearest you.

Christmas Card Set (2Crafty Chipboard DT Reveal - Part 1)

In the last 2 months, I probably made over 100 Christmas cards
as I was preparing for a Christmas Craft Show to which I participated a couple weeks ago.

Among these many cards are this set of 3 featuring 2Crafty chipboard.

Card 1

The first card in the set includes the "Corner Holly Vines"
that I separated in 2 pieces and used as borders.  I colored the chipboard using markers
and then added some lighter green Smooch paint and finished with a few dabs of shiny ivory.

The sentiment comes from the very popular "Card Word Circles - Christmas" set
and the stars are part of "ATC Tiny Hearts and Stars".

Card 2

I used a corrugated cardboard card base for each of my cards
and added red paint, red glitter glue and shiny ivory paint over each.
The paper layer comes from the very new Joyous collection from My Mind's Eye.

This is one of my favorite holiday new release pieces at 2Crafty...
the "Wicker Christmas Wreath", that comes in a set of 2.
After I had finished my card, I realized that I had used it upside down,
but I think it still works.  ha! I added red glitter glue and ruby gems.

The word "noel" is one of many from the "Christmas Mini Word Set 2"
and I added some more golden stars.

Card 3

My last card features cut up pieces of the "Christmas Decorative Ornament Borders"
I had fun coloring in the ornaments again with markers
and added little touches of Smooch paint and gold Perfect Pearls.

The sentiment was taken from the "Merry Christmas Card Pack".

Come back tomorrow for some more 2Crafty Holiday inspiration!
