Just Like Mum (OUAS & Glitz Design)

I am so proud to be sharing with you today a layout i made dedicated to none other than my Mother!

I have to say that i have been blessed to have had a mother so dedicated, so strong, so attentive...  We have always had a special bond, and whatever hardships we have gotten through together have just strengthened that bond even more.  8 years ago, almost to the day, i lost my father to cancer, and during the 6 painful months of his illness, i have seen my mom caring for him at home to the very end, showing endless patience and constant nurturing.  She has always been and will always be my main inspiration in life, a role model like no other!

So, when i saw that this month's challenge at Once Upon a ...Sketch was to make a layout for "Mum", i was more than happy to do so.  Here is the beautiful sketch provided by OUAS followed by my layout.
The journaling reads:  "Free spirit, happy, amazing, brave, pretty - This is what she is to me and so much more...  not only my mother, but also my best friend.  Every day, I am inspired to be just like Mum."

You will perhaps recognize the exquisite Pretty in Pink collection by Glitz Design whose May blog challenge was also to honour our mothers!
Here are some close-up shots of my layout:

Now here's to all the great Mums out there, as well as mine...

Happy Boy (Sunshiny LO)

Oh, isn't it wonderful to finally see endless blue skies and feel the warmth of the sun!  It might not be Summer officially, but it sure feels like it! We've been having awesome weather lately in my part of the world and it has revitalized me so much that i have barely been in my scraproom all week.  So much to do outside!!! :)

But i still managed to find time to finish a few layouts, one of which i'm sharing with you today... and i hope it makes you smile as much as it does me!  Tristan (my friend Nat's little boy) is sooooooooo cute, cute, CUTE on this photo!!!

My layout is based on this pretty sketch from The Paper Variety's current challenge:
I was so excited to be able to use my FAVORITE paper collection of the year (so far!), Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill!  I absolutely fell in love with this collection even before it was out in stores and i waited patiently until i could get my hands on every little piece of it!

Now, i will be off to enjoy some more of the gorgeous sun (we just bought our first real patio set so, needless to say, we have been sunnin' it up!), but first here are a few close-up shots of my layout!

My layout is part of a double-page that i cannot share with you in its entirety just yet!  Part 2 was created for the PageMaps' 6th Anniversary Celebration Layout Contest and i will be revealing it in early June.

Wishing you LOTS of sunshine where you are!

Bee Card (inspired by Artful Delight & Simon Says Stamp)

I KNOW!  I haven't posted in too long!  But no worries, i have been busy scrappin'!  I am currently working on 3 different projects to share with you very soon so be sure to come visit often.  :)

Tonight, i wanted to post very quickly to share with you a card i just made for a very special little boy.
So darn cute, right?

I based my design on the monthly card sketch at Artful Delight.

I am also entering my card in this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is to create a card that is clean and simple!

I have to say that this was a bit of a challenge for me as i normally tend to overdo it with embellishments and details on any project that i work on, but i really love how this card turned out and i plan to do more just like it in the future.

Thanks for buzzzzzzzzzing by! :)

Bébé Soleil (My Creative Sketches)

I had such a wonderful weekend scrapbooking with my dear friend Christine in Moncton!  Although we weren't nearly as productive as we hoped to be, we had a blast chatting, eating and creating in her craft space all day Saturday.  I finished this cute 8x10 layout for a co-worker of mine.  She had asked me to make a layout for a frame with her favorite picture of her daughter when she was a little girl.
I based myself on the April sketch at My Creative Sketches.

Not used to working with only an 8x10 space, i was somewhat limited in the amount of paper, embellishments and techniques i could use, but i think it turned out perfect, as sweet and adorable as the little girl it was inspired from.

Here are some close-ups:

Wishing you all a week full of inspiration and sunshine! :)
